Beautiful Horne Lake

On a beautiful Saturday morning we decided to head out on a Horne Lake Adventure.

Horne Lake
Beach view

A lovely view of the lake from the beach.  Great picnic sites are available with fire pits.

Hiking up to the Horne Lake Caves we travel through an ancient mossy Pacific rain forest in its perfection.  The Main cave entrance is unique in its unfolding columns of stone.

Entering the main cave

We didn’t have our flashlights with us to explore the inside of the cave but it was exciting to poke our heads in!

We really had a great Horne Lake Adventure and we are already planning our next one.

Black Lab Nature

Black Lab Nature

Always happy to get outside with my best friend and share some black lab  nature with you.

Black Lab Nature 1
Black Lab at West Coast beach

The wild and natural beaches of the West Coast of Canada are perfect for a game of fetch.

Black Lab Nature 2
Spider Lake swim

Labrador dogs love the water. Swimming in Spider Lake is a real treat!  The water is clean and cool just the way dogs love it in the summer months.

Parksville beach time

Wading in the warmer waters at Parksville beach is spa treatment for a lab dog who loves the water!

Beautiful fall Reflections
Spider Lake fall reflections

It was a lovely day to catch the Spider Lake fall reflections.  The water was very calm and a beautiful shade of blue.   Nature is the mirror image of spiritual reality. You can really feel that here.

This park is very peaceful and quiet – a real zen zone.  I always enjoy the fresh air and clarity of the water.

Spectacular fall scenery

This area was previously a gravel pit and now it is a fantastic recreation area for fisherman, kayaks, paddle boards, and swimmers.  It is a good example of industrial land converted back into nature!

A short drive north of Parksville in the center of Vancouver Island, makes this a great place to visit.  Nearby are the Horne Lake Caves which are equally as fun and interesting to visit.  Please check out more in my blog post below.

Also Horne Lake Adventure here!
